The Board of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) at Peduase has held its first meeting for the year, 2022.
The purpose of the meeting was to peruse its work programme for 2022 prior to submission to Parliament for approval.
The minister of Energy, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh took the opportunity to wish them a prosperous New Year and reiterate the vision of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the energy sector.
“We want to ensure stable reliable electricity, availability of fuel and fuel products with realistic pricing and increasing our oil reserves. We also want to greatly increase local content and local participation in the industry as well as achieving several ambitions under energy transition” he stated.
The minister added, “All these targets are linked to the work that GNPC does and I entreated the Board Members to provide the kind of leadership that is patriotic and highly beneficial to national development”.
He believes it is important to engage with the boards of agencies under my ministry to ensure there is harmony between the government’s agenda and actual work done.
