The information available to Bryt Fm News reveals that suspected Armed Robbers attacked commuters on the Gomoa Dabenyi stretch of the Kasoa – Winneba – Cape Coast Highway last night.
Three(3) persons, a driver and 2 passengers got injured during the operation. They were receiving treatment at a hospital.
According to reports, the highway robbers blocked the road robbed many vehicles for about 40 minutes before the arrival of the police.
The robbers upon seeing the police vehicle approaching started opening fire at them. The Police Patrol Team from Winneba, Kasoa Division as well as the Central East Regional Patrols also returned fire.
The robbers however managed to abscond.
Residents of the Gomoa Dabenyi Community have been gripped with fear
calling on the police to intensify patrol on the stretch.
