The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Akwatia constituency of the Eastern Region, Henry Kwadwo Boakye has expressed worry over the delay in releasing Common Fund to the various Assemblies.
According to the lawmaker, the situation is having an adverse impact on the development of the constituency.
He stressed that many developmental projects have been halted due to a lack of funds despite the many challenges confronting constituents.
The MP has chastised the Akufo-Addo led government for failing to adhere to a constitutional obligation in disbursing Common Fund on time.
There have been a lot of calls by Civil Society Organisations, Corporate bodies and individuals who have complained about the delay in releasing the statutory fund, thereby forcing the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to depend on the little internal generated funds.
