Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin will soon cut sod for the construction of a Children’s hospital in Gyengyenadzie in the Effutu municipality of the Central Region.
This came to light at a short ceremony to hand over the Gyengyenadzie Clinic to the Municipal Health Directorate after a renovation exercise by the Rotary Club with the support of the MP who is also the Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament.
Effutu Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party Otabil Ellis, made this disclosure when he represented the lawmaker at the event after testifying about some projects the MP has initiated to improve the quality of health care for the people.
He made mention of the Kojo Baidoo electoral area and another at Wonsom which has made health care delivery closer to the people.
Mr Ellis Otabil however, pledged the MP’s unflinching support to the health needs of the people and assured the Health Directorate of many policies in the offing.
Meanwhile, a representative of the Rotary Club and the Head of the Department of Special Education at the University of Education Winneba, Dr Yaw Nyadu Offei in his remarks indicated that his out which is made up of businesspeople and other professionals who come together to offer assistance to communities.
He emphasised that Rotary Club is much interested in health-related projects, that is; the provision of potable water, health facilities and hospital equipment and many others.
He was grateful to the MP for his involvement in its projects and assured of a better future for the people of Effutu as he sees the MP as an ‘Action’ man.
The leadership of the Health Directorate showed appreciation to Rotary Club management, the MP and all those who facilitated in making the renovation come true and pledged to take good care of it.
