President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will start paperless registration and licensing of vehicles in July 2022.
He said that the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) would soon integrate the Ghana Card to help in their activities.
The Presidency in a tweet on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, said “DVLA systems and the Ghana Card platform will be fully integrated by July 2022 to facilitate paperless registration of vehicles and licensing of drivers while ensuring easy processing of documents.”
The Government has been implementing policies to reduce the human element in the services provided by most public institutions.
The paperless Port system was introduced to transform the country’s clearing system to reduce clearance time and human contacts with a feature of having joint examination to eradicate the hitherto duplication of duties by state agencies at the Port.
However, the announcement by the Presidency has been met with several praises from drivers and car owners as it would do away with the challenges they use to go through.
