Ten (10) Members of Parliament from the Eastern Region who were given an appointment as Ministers under President Akufo-Addo administration are facing Contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries.
Four other ministers are going unopposed in the 25th April Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries in 169 Constituencies across the country.
Those going unopposed are; Hon. Bryan Acheampong (Abetifi) and a Minister of State Dan Botwe (Okere) and Minister For Regional Reorganization, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister for Information and Ofoase-Ayirebi and Joseph Tetteh Upper Manya Krobo Candidate and Deputy Eastern Regional Minister.
Others facing contest are Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei, deputy minister of information and MP for Akuapim North, Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah, a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and MP for Akuapim South, Mr Kwasi Adjei-Boateng, a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and MP for New Juaben North, a Deputy Minister of Finance, Abena Osei Asare and MP for Atiwa East.
The rests are Mr Akwasi Amoako Atta, Roads and highways Minister and MP for Atiwa West, Ms Gifty Twum-Ampofo, Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training and MP for Abuakwa North,
Samuel Atta Kyea, Minister for Works and Housing and MP for Abuakwa South, Hon.Eric Kwakye Daffour, Eastern Regional Minister and MP for Nkawkaw, A Deputy Minister for Agriculture Kennedy Osei Nyarko who doubles as MP for Akyem Swedru.
