The newly elected national executives and the chairman of the NPP’s Ashanti Region, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), have vowed to work hard to end the party’s eight-year electoral cycle.
Although he backed John Boadu against him, he wrote to the newly elected General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, or JFK, saying that he accepted the result since God knows best.
“God knows what is good for our dear party, I supported JB but the delegates in their own wisdom chose you. We look forward to working hard so that together we can ‘Break The 8’ may God bless you and once again CONGRATULATIONS to you and the NPP for successful elections from Chairman Wontumi to JFK,” he said.
On Saturday, July 16, John Boadu was removed from his position at his party’s National Annual Delegates’ Conference.
Executive Director (ED) Justin Kodua Frimpong of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) defeated him.
JFK received 2,837 of the total valid votes cast, defeating John Boadu, the incumbent, who received 2,524 votes.
