Ghana Premier League record title holders Asante Kotoko have announced new captains ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season after stripping Abdul Ganiyu Ishmael.
On Tuesday, the Porcupine Warriors announced five new captains to lead the club ahead of the new season.
Richard Boadu has been named the substantive captain and will be deputized by Yusif Mubarik and Danlad Ibrahim as the 1st and 2nd assistant captains respectively.
Christopher Nettey and Pouaty Dendoum have been named as the 3rd and 4th vice-captains for the two-time African champions.
It is unknown why Kotoko stripped Ganiyu of the captaincy but reports in the media suggest it is as a result of the defender demanding contract termination.
Kotoko is currently in Sudan for a preseason training tour and is expected to take on Sudanese giants Al Hilal this evening.
