The Institute of Local Government Studies held a High Level Breakfast Meeting on Promoting Local Economic Development to Create Jobs The discussions centered on Lessons from the Nationwide Training on the Next Generation Local Economic Development (NGLED) and Emerging Issues and the localisation of the national agenda for job creation.
A small group of the sector’s policy makers/technocrats from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Inter-Ministerial Cordinating Committee on Decentralisation – IMCCoD, National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Office of the Head of Local Government Services (OHLGS), Office of the Head of Civil Service (OHCS), Ghana Export Promotion (GEPA) and the Public Sector Reforms were invited to discuss the NGLED approach and its implications on LED policy, programmes and strategies.
