A total of 54 aspirants have been cleared to contest for Executive positions in the Lower West Akyem Constituency of the Eastern Region and the Congress is expected to be held on 29th and 30th October 2022 in Constituencies in the Regions as other regions set to hold election on 22nd and 23rd October 2022.
In the Lower West Akyem Constituency, two candidates are contesting for Secretary, Organizer, Communications Officer, Women Organizer, Deputy Women Organizer, Deputy Youth Organizer, Zongo Caucus and Deputy Treasure whilst three each are contesting for Chairman, Vice Chairman, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Organizer, Youth Organizer ,Treasure, Deputy Communications Officer and 16 are eying Executive member position.
The chairmanship position is being contested by incumbent Ibrahim Mohamed Nuhu, a former chairman, Aliyu Abdul Jaliluand a new candidate, Benjamin Wiafe.
The constituency Secretary,Ben Owusu Acquaah who is seeking for re-election is also in the contest with a former Secretary, Francis Kumi Sasraku; and incumbent Organizer,Charles Nyameis also in the contest with a former organizer, Aminu Issahwhilst Constituency Communications Officer,Benjamin Yamoahis also contesting with a former officer, Samuel Okoh-Agyemang.
Incumbent Youth Organizer, Bala Abubakar is also contesting with Labaran Salihu and Solomon Otu Yaw whiles Incumbent Treasure, Sumaila Mohamed is in the race with Tahiru Abubakarand Fatimatu Haruna.
