The Chairperson for the Akyem Abuakwa Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Doctor Seth Kissi has stressed on the need for workers to acknowledge the grace and guidance of the Lord if they retire in service.
According to him, Some workers loose their jobs during the Journey, while others too die, get accident and retire prematurely and the rest are either dismissed or resign before the retirement age.
Speaking at a send off ceremony in honour of Mrs Eunice Ampfo-Akonnor, West Akyem Municipal Director of Education at Asamankese,Reverend Doctor Seth Kissi said workers who sacrificed their life, energy, skills and knowledge from the beginning of work to retirement must be honoured and celebrated in a special way.
He said the Country can only succeed if workers do their work well with understanding that they are serving God and seek for the direction and guidance from the Lord.
The Presbytery Chairperson called on workers to always seek for the protection of the Lord throughout the Journey to overcome challenges and retire in peace.
West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Seth Oduro Boadu lauded Mrs. Eunice Amfo-Akonnor for her dedicated service in the area for her four year stay and called on other directors of Education to emulate her.
He said being head of department does not mean one is self dependent and called on heads to collaborate and work for the development of the Municipality.
