The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in the Eastern Region has called on Utility Consumers to adopt the Tariff Reckoner and the Electricity Consumption Estimator ( PECE) to calculate their water and Electricity bills.
The PECE App estimates the user’s monthly electricity consumption both in kWh and in GHS using the PURC Gazetted Tariffs and it is available on App Store and Playstore for consumers to download PURC Electricity Consumption Estimator App:http://www.purcghapp.com/tariffCalc.aspx.
The computation is based on the selected appliance, number of appliances, wattage, hours of use per day and the customer type.
The application further determines the contribution of each appliance to the total monthly cost of electricity.
At a collaborative Engagement Breakfast with Consumers Electricity and Water Company Officials, Media and Association Dressmakers, Photographers, Beauticians, Mechanics and others who are commercial Consumers at Asamankese, Mr. Jude Aduamoah Addo Eastern Regional Manager of the PURC said Tariff Reckoner is a valuable tool that promotes transparency, accountability, and consumer empowerment in the electricity and Water.
Mr. Aduamoah Addo called on the Electricity Company of Ghana to find ways and means for people in areas where Telecommunications network is not available for them to pay their bills.
At the engagement, Officials from the District and Regional office of the Electricity and Water Company also introduced Participants to the their digital platforms use to check bills, lodge complaints and pay bills.
