The Asuogyaman District Assembly under the leadership of the DCE, Samuel Kwame Agyekum and the District’s Information Services Department (ISD) in collaboration with the Akwamu Traditional Council headed the Paramount King, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III on Thursday, April 16, 2020, kick start an intensive sensitization program on the deadly Coronavirus pandemic in some communities within the district.
This is intended to deepen education on the COVID-19 outbreak and curtail it’s spread within the jurisdiction of the district which has not recorded any case yet.

The dignitaries took turns to urge the gathering to strictly adhere to the protocols as stated by President Nana Akufo-Addo, the Ministry of Health as well as health professionals.
Speakers at the event stressed the need to continuously wash hands under running water with soap, regular use of hand sanitizers, covering of the nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing, reporting to healthcare centers cases of running nose, severe cough and difficulty in breathing amongst other signs.

Moreover, the gathering was informed to alternatively call the COVID-19 call center on 112 for any information about the deadly disease.
Meanwhile, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III shared face masks to some constituents of communities they visited.

Communities the dignitaries visited were Mpakadan, Nnudu, and Apegusu with other communities to be engaged by the dignitaries in due time.
