A total of 1,089 Illegal immigrants have been intercepted and Repatriated since the closure of borders in the Bono Region.
The immigrants who were attempting to enter Ghana were identified as Citizens from Neighboring countries such as Togo, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and others.
In an interview with the media, Assistant Commissioner of Immigration (ACI) Charles Yaw Bediako said 21 motorcycles were seized from some Ghanaians who were aiding the illegal entry into Ghana.
He said out of the 1,089 Immigrants, 221 were intercepted at Nkran Nkwanta in Dormaa West, 133 in Kofi Badukrom, 272 at Sampa, 62 in Bonokrom and other areas.
He charged Ghanaians in the region to stop aiding people into the Country and vowed to work hard to stop people from entering the country at this Critical period of Pandemic COVID -19.
