A total of 120,285 pupils are set to sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ashanti Region.
According to Dr. William Kwame Amankra Appiah, Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), the candidates comprise 60,286 females and 59,999 males, who will write the exam at 432 designated centers.
The number of expected candidates represents an 8.6% increase from previous expectations, with 9,543 more candidates than initially anticipated.
The examination is a crucial milestone for these students, and their performance will determine their future academic prospects.
The Ghana Education Service is expected to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place to facilitate a smooth and successful examination process.
