Member of Parliament of the Odododiodio constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has said all the 137 National Democratic Congress’s Lawmakers have endorsed immediate past flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to lead them for 2024.
He said “To me as I sit here so far as I am concern and I Know is that all the 137 NDC MPs who are leaders in their Constituency have resolved on Mahama as next candidate.
Speaking on face to face show on Citi Tv in Accra, the former Minister of Youth and Sports and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry in the John Dramani Mahama Administration said any candidate who will try to contest Mahama will get less than 1% vote.
He said looking at the Party’s Presidential Candidate performance in the 2020 Election, there is no need to change him since he qualifies to contest the seat again.
Nii Lante Vanderpuye said the future of NDC depends on the outcome of the 2024 Election and endorsed the “Do or Die” word from Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has admonished the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to use the 2024 elections to redeem its image given the circumstances under which the 2020 polls were held.
“A lot of things didn’t go well especially the discovery of extra ballot papers,” he said in an exclusive interview.
In a related Development, Ashanti Region Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Benard Antwi Boasiako has assured that he will go to every extent to ensure that former president John Mahama leads NDC into the 2024 polls.
He is of the view the 2024 elections will be a done deal for NPP if former president Mahama leads the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because “Mr. Mahama is the weakest link in the NDC party and right now his political career is on life support”.
