Three young men have been put before Koforidua District Magistrate Court “A” for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old student.
The three accused persons -Collins Narttey,20, Eric Ansah alias Ramos,22 and Mohammed Ganiu,23, haven been remanded at the Cell of Domestic Violence and Victim Supports Unit at the Regional Headquarters in Koforidua.
The fact of the case presented by Prosecutor Sargent George Defia is that the 16-year-old student is ex-girlfriend to one of the accused persons. He said on the fateful day of March 20, 2020, at about 10:00pm, the accused persons lured the victim to the back of a house on the night. Two of them took a turn to have sexual intercourse with her and subsequently grabbed the victim violently for the third person to take his turn.
A Cousin of the victim reported the incident to the Police after the victim narrated the ordeal. The accused were swiftly arrested by the Police.
The case has been adjourned to April 21, 2020.
