At least 18 people have been injured after a Mercedes-Benz bus travelling from northern Ghana to Ashaiman was involved in an accident at Adele-Kpoe on the Tema–Akosombo Highway.
The incident occurred after the bus, with registration number AS 427-09, reportedly suffered a front tyre burst while in motion.
The tyre burst caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which subsequently veered off the road and somersaulted.
All 18 passengers sustained injuries of varying degrees and were reportedly affected by the impact of the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the accident, including the condition of the injured passengers and whether any arrests have been made, are yet to be fully established.
Authorities are expected to conduct further investigations into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
