A total of 12 Factories have been established so far as part of One District, One Factory Project in the Eastern Region and over 6,000 direct and indirect jobs are created.
President Akufo-Addo told the nation recently in his media encounter that 58 factories have been built under the government’s flagship programme, One District One Factory (1D1F) across the country.
The 58 companies, some of them very familiar names, are into various enterprises from manufacturing, recycling, agro and wood processing.
In the Eastern region, eight Districts have received 12 factories so far and the factories are;
1) Pam Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Manufacture of Pharmaceutical products in Akwapim South which has created 590 direct and indirect jobs.
2) Brompton Portfolio, Manufacturing toilet roll Akuapim South Municipal and has created 105 direct and indirect jobs.
3) Zuriel Carbon, Manufacturing of briquettes from sawdust for the export market in Kwahu West, direct and indirect jobs created is 91.
4) Shaba Enterprise, Manufacture of cookers and other electricals, Kwahu West, direct and indirect jobs created is 20.
5) 16 Kete Krachie Timber Recovery Limited. The company uses a robust underwater logging system to recover trees from the Volta Lake and process it into wood and wood products in Asuogyaman- 55 direct and indirect jobs created
6) Strongmen Foods & Farms Ltd. Cultivation, milling, and distribution of rice Yilo Krobo, 120 direct and indirect jobs created.
7) 25 Birim Oil Mills Limited Processing of Oil Palm into edible oil in Kwaebibrim- 34 direct and indirect jobs created.
8) Dagan Farms Ltd. Fish farming and processing in Asuogyaman,25 jobs created directly and indirectly.
9) Appah Farms Limited. Rearing and processing of poultry into meat and related products in Kwahu East, Direct and indirect jobs created is 40.
10) Maagrace Industries Limited, Manufacturing of various types of Garment in New Juaben Municipal Assembly, 400 jobs created directly and indirectly.
11) Happy Sunshine Company Limited Manufacturing of canned tomatoes in Suhum, jobs created- 5100, directly and indirectly.
12) Glofert Ghana, Production of fertilizer to support agriculture in Suhum
