President Akufo-Addo has made a promised saying together with his administration will ensure that the 2020 general elections is conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner to allow the people of Ghana choose the persons they want to lead the nation.
The President gave the assurance when he addressed attendees of the Jubilee House festival of nine lessons and carol held at the forecourt of the seat of the country’s Presidency on the 20th of December 2019.
“For the first time in our country, all three arms of government, the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Executive have each held a festival of Nine lessons and Carols. It is strong testimony of the determination of each arm to be guided in their work by the Christian values of faith, love, charity and reconciliation” the President said.
President Akufo-Addo further said that “this commitment is particularly important especially as we enter a new year in which the nation is going to conduct a general election so that our people can choose the person or persons they want to manage the affairs of the nation on their behalf”.
“We have a responsibility to ensure that we put our best foot forward beginning with the people in this house. We will be conducting the 8th general election of our history in the fourth republic. We have to ensure that it is peaceful and orderly so that our people can make their choice in freedom and peace. I am very optimistic that that will be the case and that the reputation of our nation as a beacon of democracy will be further strengthened” President Akufo-Addo added.
