His Excellency Former United States Ambassador, Emmanuel Victor Smith has praised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for performing better in the Abuakwa North Constituency in the just ended presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to him, the NDC parliamentary candidate performed better in the constituency this year and closed the gap which was created by the NPP parliamentary member during the 2016 elections.
In 2016 the NPP candidate Gifty Twum Ampofo won the seat with 17,838 whilst the NDC candidate also achieved 11,754 in the constituency.
At the just-ended 2020 elections, the NPP candidate Gifty Twum Ampofo won with 17,653 votes whilst the NDC candidate Charles Yeboah Darko acquired 15,551 votes in Abuakwa North.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Dadi FM 101.1, he applauded Charles Yeboah for closing the gap this year in the district.
“There has been an improvement in the results this year at Abuakwa North, the difference was just about 2,000 which shows the people supports the NDC”
He added that the NDC has improved massively in the district due to the party’s hard work and selflessness.
He said that the Member of Parliament in the district didn’t gather lots of votes because she acted proud and adamant to the people in the district and that is why they decided to vote against her.
“When you become an MP people will come to you for assistance and support so you need to be for the people and not act proud towards them, that is why the woman, lost votes this year”
