Mrs. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, former General Secretary of National Association of Local Authorities in Ghana has an unseated incumbent Member of Parliament for Krowor who again doubles as Minister in charge of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mrs. Elizabeth Afoley Quaye.
Mrs. Lartey who stood as the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), grabbed 41,851 as Mrs. Quaye who also contested on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) also polled 32,206 which clearly saw the incumbent MP defeated.
Mrs. Quaye happens to be a one-term Member of Parliament as she won the seat for the first time in 2016 in her first time contesting.
She is coming up against Mrs. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey of the NDC who lost the 2016 election by 2,106 votes despite campaigning for only three months.
The parliamentary race will also see Madam Hannah Bortey, of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) completing the list of an all-female contest for the parliamentary race.
