The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for this year’s National Farmers Day Celebration has been inaugurated on Tuesday, 1st November 2022 at Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital. The event will be held at the Jubilee Park.
The 38th Farmers’ Day Celebration which is set to be hosted in the Eastern Region on the first Friday of December is expected to be graced by the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Ministers of State, Farmers across the length and breadth of the country; exhibitors, input dealers, and other key stakeholders in the value chain will participate in diverse ways to make the day a memorable one.
The exhibition, however, will start on the 29th of November, 222.
In his brief statement, the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong stressed the region’s commitment and preparedness to ensure that the National event that the region has been honoured to host becomes successful and memorable.
He assured that as Chairman of the Regional Security Council, (REGSEC) adequate security programme would be provided before, during and after the celebration for government officials, exhibitors, farmers and other public who will visit the region.
He, therefore, appealed to the National Planning Committee to provide all the necessary support to make the celebration one of the best in history.
The Deputy Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Member of Parliament for Trobo, Hon Moses Anim officially inaugurated the committee and called on the members to work hard for the success of the programme.
He was optimistic that this year’s National Farmers Day would be an example to be emulated by the succeeding regions.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Mr Patrick Ankobeah consequently took the committee through what was expected of them.
He also encouraged them to work hard, adding that the National Planning Committee would be working hand in hand with the LOC.
