Ken Ofori Atta, the Minister of Finance has stated that 2022 is a difficult year for President Akufo Addo-led New Patriotic Party government.
He stated the price of goods and services is going high as a result of the Covid-19 and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war which has affected the global world.
Briefing Parliament on the mid-year budget review, Mr Ofori Atta said that the government established the GHS100 billion Covid-19 Alleviation and Revitalization of Enterprises Support (CARES) program to mitigate the impact of the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
He added the Obantapa project was also to ensure that Ghanaians quickly emerge from the economic hardship with a stronger and more resilient economy.
The minister, however, averred that the impact of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has affected Ghana severely as foods and commodities are going up rapidly.
