Nine (9) out of the fifteen (15) goals scored so far at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup were scored by blacks.
Three (3) out of the four (4) ‘Man of the Match’ awards have also been won by blacks but none of them is African.
Lukaku, Mbappé and other blacks are expected to dazzle, but not in the colours of any African nation.
No African nation has reached semi-finals at this tournament, but blacks have performed very well, especially for countries such as France and contributed to their successes.
However, indepth analysis also reveal a chunk of the the talents representing Africa at the World Cup were nurtured and developed outside the continent.
Like sprints, blacks will one day dominate the world in many areas, but they will be black talents that that have been groomed by other countries, and not in the home continent of Africa where bad leadership and greed continue to undermine individual and collective efforts at excellence.
