A section of Ghanaians are of the view the decision by the Finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta to read the 2023 budget statement on Thursday 24 November, 2022 is a scheme to take the public eye out of his failure to manage the economy.
“How can you present the budget on the day the Black Starts are playing its first game with Portugal at the ongoing World Cup? He definitely know that Ghanaians will rather be following trending from the upcoming match hence his diabolic decision to read the budget today” section of the public told the reporter.
The presentation of the 2023 budget statement to Parliament by the Finance minister has delayed due ongoing IMF bailout negotiations which is expected to play a major factor in the yet to be read budget.
However, some Ghanaians are questioning why the minister insist on reading the budget today instaed of may be rescheduling the date for the public to have focus in dissecting his presentation, especially as many are looking forward to hear programs laid down to reset Ghana’s economic status.
The Ghana Black Stars will face off their Portuguese counterparts in their first game in the ongoing FIFA World cup at Qatar on Thursday afternoon at 16:00GMT.
Many Ghanaians are hoping the Black Stars will triumph on their opponents to secure the first victory for the country.
