The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration participated and won awards during the 2023 Civil Service Week Celebration which was held from 24th May to 2nd June, 2023 under the theme “Enhanced Service Delivery and Economic Transformation in Ghana: The Civil Service in Focus”.
During an awards ceremony to climax the Civil Service Week Celebration, the Acting Chief Director for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Amb. Ramses Cleland was awarded the 8th Best Performed Chief Director for the year 2022.
Two other officers from the Ministry, Mrs. Beryl Agyeiwaa Lomotey, Deputy Director and Mr. Desmond Kwesi Dikro, Chief Executive Officer also received awards for outstanding leadership, and dedication and commitment respectively.
The activities which the Ministry participated in were inter-Ministerial football tournament for both men and women, lawn tennis, policy and tourism fair, men’s cooking competition and a clean-up exercise.
The Ministry won 3 trophies from the sports competitions. For the lawn tennis competition, the Ministry’s team which was led by the Acting Chief Director Amb. Ramses Cleland won the first position. The Ministry’s female football team emerged 3rd in their competition. The fair play trophy for complying with the rules of the game and respecting opponents during the football tournament was also won by the Ministry.
For the men’s cooking competition the Ministry’s team prepared a Ghanaian delicacy known as “Ampesi and Palava sauce”. The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu in her closing remarks at the end of the competition commended the team for preparing the delicious meal.
