There is something to be said for the resilience of the human spirit, and indeed, with the kind of year 2022 turned out to be, we can all celebrate our ability to survive against the odds.
2023 feels very much like the turning point we’ve all been waiting for. I encourage you to embrace the new year with hope; seeking out every potential; tapping into every opportunity, and focusing on the task of rebuilding.
I have faith that as we settle into fulfilling the tasks that will facilitate the goals we have committed to, God Almighty and the divine hosts will continue to walk with us all.
Nananom, Compatriots, the Good People of Akwamu, and Friends of Akwamu,
Reflecting on the past year, we can all agree that it has not been without its challenges; at the same time, it has offered us many positives from which we can derive the motivation to forge ahead. Our efforts to bring Akwamu back to its glory are strengthened by the incredible collective tenacity, teamwork, and energy of the entire community.
My position as Akwamumanhene often brings me in contact with people from all walks of life and through that, I am constantly reminded just how fortunate we are to live in this part of the world in spite of the numerous challenges.
I am grateful, heartened and uplifted by your support throughout the past years, but also proud of you as a people because it is precisely our common desire to focus on a better future geared towards creating opportunities for Akwamu to become a strong and vibrant community, that will see us through some of the difficult times ahead. If we are to succeed, then I need your support now more than ever because I can not achieve our objectives alone.
As we’ve ushered in a happy, peaceful, healthy, and prosperous New Year, I would like to thank you all once again from the bottom of my heart.
On a personal note, this time of the year is an opportunity for me and my family to do some reflection of our own in a bid to serve you better.
May God Almighty bless you, your families, and your loved ones.
Me ma mo Afehyia Paaoooo!
Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III
