BECE Candidates in New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern region has expressed their readiness for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has scheduled 8th to 12th July 2024 for this year’s examination for all junior high final year students in Ghana.
As part of preparation towards the examination, the Assembly Member for Gyamfikrom Electoral Area Kankam Twumasi Daniel and Assembly Member for Edumasa Electoral Area Parise Omane Otuo Acheampong visited some basic schools in their respective electoral areas and donated mathematical sets to BECE candidates in their respective schools.
The mathematical set was received by 37 students of Salvation Army JHS , 60 students of Frihands Educational Complex as well as 66 candidates of Effiduase Roman Catholic ‘A’ and ‘B’.
The Assembly Member for Gyamfikrom Electoral Area Kankam Twumasi Daniel outlined the motive behind the gesture and said “this is the first badge of students partaking in the WEAC exams at the basic level after I was elected as the Assembly Member for this electoral area therefore it is incumbent on me to support them with this examination materials”
“The examination at the basic level is very critical to determine the future of the students hence all stakeholders should ensure that the needed support and attention is offered to our children within this period for a successful completion”
Kankam Twumasi Daniel however urged parents to spare the candidates from engaging in commercial activities after school in this period of their examination and allow them to stick to their books and focus on the examination.
Interacting with some students after receiving the examination materials from the assembly member, they noted the importance of the materials in helping them overcome any impediment in the exams due to lack of such materials.
Some of the students also shared their preparedness and expectations towards the exams indicating that they are fully prepared to achieve excellence in their three years of studies in school.
