A total of 53,264 candidates are set to take the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
According to the statistics released by the Ghana Education Service, 26,829 boys and 26,435 girls from both public and private schools will sit for the exam.
The public schools have a total of 44,808 candidates, made up of 22,695 boys and 22,113 girls. Private schools have a total of 8,456 candidates, comprising 4,134 boys and 4,322 girls.
The candidates will write the exam in 2,118 centres across the region, with 1,524 public schools and 594 private schools participating.
The Eastern Region is ready to ensure a smooth and successful examination process for all candidates. The Ghana Education Service and other stakeholders have put in place measures to ensure the integrity and credibility of the exams.
