Former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has charged the Security Services to be neutral in discharge of their duty especially during election period.
Addressing delegates of the NDC at Asamankese in the Eastern region to round up his three- day tour of the ,Mr.Mahama said the security must not take side whenever there is misunderstanding during election stating that the loyalty of the security services is to the state and not to political parties.
According to him what happened in 2020 will not be allowed to happen again in 2024.
He said assured that the next NDC government will open investigation into the killing of eight people during the 2020 general election and compensate the families of the victims accordingly.
Mahama said the current economic hardship has impacted negatively on every aspect of the economy , this he said is due to the poor management of the economy and not as a result of Covid-19 or Russia-Ukraine war.
The former President further said he will create viable economic conditions and to ensure that scholarship schemes being instituted benefit all Ghanaians irrespective or your party affiliation or rich or poor.
