Actor Joseph Osei, better known by his stage as Wayoosi, from Kumawood, has stated that he believes National Democratic Party (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama should be elected in the upcoming 2024 elections.
He emphasized Mahama’s history of spearheading numerous development initiatives that have strengthened the country’s many sectors and created an atmosphere that is favorable for the success of businesses.
Wayoosi cited Mahama’s dedication to business support—which has greatly influenced his voting preference—as evidence of the Kejetia Market, a Kumasi project credited to the former president.
Wayoosi urged Ghanaians to vote for Mahama in the upcoming elections in an interview with Zionfelix as a way to help the nation overcome its economic difficulties.
“I would be immensely pleased to see Mahama ascend to the presidency once more. His personal contributions aside, the 24-hour economy strategy he proposes is promising, given his prior accomplishments,” the actor said.
“Take a glance at the splendid Kejetia market in the Ashanti Region; his four-year tenure was marked by diligent efforts. Isn’t that reason enough to grant him another term?” he expressed.
In the meantime, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and party flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and other potential presidential candidates will face off against Mr. John Mahama.
December 7, 2024 is when the expected general election is set to take place.
