Due to the purported breakfast distribution by incumbent Member of Parliament Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, chaos broke out at the Assemblies of God Church polling station in the Ablekuma West Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Some voters hooted as a pickup vehicle carrying meal packs was driven away.
The meal, purportedly supplied by the lawmaker, who is running against Kweku Addo of the National Democratic Congress, was meant for polling and electoral officials, according to the car’s occupants.
The car is currently parked outside the voting facility after being moved away from the polling place.
“We just brought food [breakfast] for our polling agents and EC officials, but the NDC members are asking us to take the vehicle out. The food is from Ursula Owusu. This shouldn’t create a problem because it’s not for voters,” Doris Boakye, a member of the NPP in Ablekuma West told the media.
