Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and NPP presidential flagbearer, has challenged former President John Dramani Mahama to a debate. Former Minister for the Central Region Kwamena Duncan has urged Mahama to accept the offer.
In an attempt to tell voters about their candidates for the December 7 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has thrown down the challenge to NDC flagbearer John Mahama, asking him to meet with him in person and clarify their records.
“I am looking forward to a debate with John Mahama on the economy, on the country on the governance.”
“But I am afraid that he is running away from a debate. His people say he doesn’t want to debate. I have never heard an opposition leader who doesn’t want to debate. But he knows I will expose the emptiness of his policies,” Dr. Bawumia said while addressing thousands of his supporters in Bunkpurugu, North East Region.
In response to the matter, Kwamena Duncan of Peace FM’s popular program “Kokrokoo” urged Ghanaians to put further pressure on John Mahama to accept the challenge.
“Everyone, every good Ghanaian citizen must call on the former President; present yourself,” he exclaimed.
He thought that the discussion will help the electorate make an informed decision in the upcoming presidential elections.
