Benjamin Bano-Bioh, Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission (EC), claims that all political party agents follow the norms and regulations at voting places around the country.
According to him, the Commission is satisfied with how these party agents are behaving and has encouraged them to continue doing so.
“So far, most of the party agents have been comporting themselves, and we urge them to continue to do that,” he said.
“If a party agent misbehaves, he or she can be dismissed from the polling station,” he said, emphasizing that the EC would not tolerate any agent who misbehaves later in the process.
“They (party agents) must realize that they are there to observe,” he added. They must notify the presiding authority of any problems so that appropriate measures can be implemented.
Speaking from the EC headquarters in Accra, Mr. Bano-Bioh was part of the second news briefing.
The exercise is going smoothly across the nation, according to the EC, and they are calling for a peaceful conclusion by 5:00 p.m.
