NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his support for the Free Senior High School (SHS) program and pledged to make improvements if re-elected in the next presidential election.
Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2017, Mahama, recognized the value of the Free SHS program in ensuring that every Ghanaian had equitable access to education.
“The Free SHS policy has come to stay, and I am committed to improving it,” he said while addressing journalists in Accra on Sunday.
Once more, he refuted allegations that he is against the policy and emphasized that he merely wants it modified to address current issues.
Regarding the Free SHS Bill, which has not yet been introduced in Parliament, Mr. Mahama declared that he would back it if its goal was to uphold and enhance the policy.
