The vice chairman of the Bawumia campaign team, Nana Akomea, has stated that he is extremely confident that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will win the general elections in 2024.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Channel One TV, Akomea stressed his confidence in Bawumia’s potential to win, while acknowledging that the people ultimately has the final say.
Additionally, he emphasized the party’s will to do well nationwide, especially in the Greater Accra Region, where the NPP hopes to secure a majority of parliamentary seats.
“I’m confident but it remains at that level of confidence. The NDC too, if someone were to speak for them, will also be confident, they will remain at that level of confidence.
“Fortunately for us, in another three weeks, the electorate will speak and everybody will see their confidence level. But I’m optimistic that Dr Bawumia will win the elections and the NPP will carry parliamentary votes.”
In response to a question about whether the departure of three Members of Parliament to independent status would impact their chances of securing a majority, he expressed confidence, stating, “If we have a majority of 20 and we’re going to get a comfortable majority. That is my confidence”, he said.
