Mavis Hawa Koomson, the member of parliament for Awutu Senya East, has stated her optimism in winning the current elections in the region by a majority of 60%.
The constituency has previously struggled in elections, as evidenced by the gun violence at the Steps to Christ Centre during the 2020 elections, where one person was shot.
Koomson, who is seeking reelection, stressed that she will remain calm and won’t permit any interference with the voting process.
“It is God who determines my victory, not my own strength, so the winning percentage is also in His hands. However, I am not expecting anything less than 60%,” she stated.
“I am a seasoned politician, and as someone with experience, I have no intention of engaging in petty disputes with my opponents. This election will not be a repeat of past encounters. From the start of 2021, I made a promise that in this 2024 election, I will not stoop to such levels.”
“Even if my opponent provokes me, I will remain unfazed for now. However, once the election is over, I will respond appropriately. Until then, I will maintain my composure,” she added.
Additionally, Hawa Koomson refuted reports of ballot stuffing that surfaced in the Ga South Municipality late yesterday, stating that the constituency is fully supporting her in her bid for victory.
