The leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has positioned himself as the most capable vice president Ghana has had since independence.
Speaking in Kumasi at his running partner Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s (NAPO) launch, Dr. Bawumia claimed that even the opposition National Democratic Congress had recognized his outstanding vice presidential performance.
He compared his accomplishments to those of NDC flagbearer John Mahama, saying that although Mahama did not succeed in his vice presidential term, Jawumia had shown exceptional leadership in that role.
In keeping with his reputation as a visionary leader, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the 2024 election offers a choice between advancement and regression.
“The choice is between the future and the past. He [Mahama] has been president before and he failed. I’m just a vice president, I’ve not been a president before, but everyone can attest that I’ve been the most effective vice president in the history of Ghana.
“Even the NDC know that. There’s been no hard-working vice president than me since independence. So the 2024 election is about going forward or backwards.” He stated.
