The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has stated that the hand of God departed from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) long ago as he believes their deeds resulted into God’s annoyance on the party.
According to him, the election was a moral and spiritual wake-up call for the NPP government, which he said was causing the people a great deal of economic suffering, in an interview on JoyNews’ Upfront on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Kwetey, the election was a spiritual struggle, and the NPP’s activities had generated “massive vertical energy” that was intended to degrade them.
“This election was beyond politics. It was about the soul of Ghana versus the NPP,” he said, adding that the outcome reflected the collective will of a nation seeking change.
Citing the government’s refusal to take accountability for Ghana’s economic difficulties and its reliance on outside justifications like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, he said that the “hand of God had long departed” from the NPP.
“A government that inflicts so much economic pain, shows deception, and refuses to accept responsibility cannot expect blessings,” he said.
