The Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baah Acheamfour, has firmly dismissed the notion of a runoff in the 2024 elections, as suggested by certain individuals and groups.
Following the resignation of former Minister for Trade and Industry, Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten, from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the establishment of his own movement called “Movement for Change,” political analysts have speculated the possibility of a runoff in the upcoming 2024 election.
He firmly believes that Former President John Dramani Mahama will secure victory in the 2024 election during the first round.
Acheamfour asserts that Mahama has been chosen by the first President of the Republic, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, to liberate Ghana from the rule of Akufo-Addo.
“There is not going to be any second round in the elections, Ghanaians are waiting to vote the NPP out and make changes in governance. Ghanaians are calling for change”, Baah Acheamfour stated.
He additionally disclosed that the 2024 elections are going to be the second independence for Ghanaians from the hardship under Akufo-Addo’s rule.
