Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to vote for him as a brand new president citing his achievements as Vice President.
According to Dr. Bawumia, he is regarded as the greatest vice president Ghana has ever had. He said these things on Monday when on a visit of the Awutu Senya East constituency, during a stakeholder engagement at the Kasoa Odekro Palace.
In an attempt to win over Ghanaians to his candidacy, Dr. Bawumia made a vow to lead the country as a “brand new tear rubber.”
He emphasized his participation in putting 33 government programs into effect while drawing comparisons between his record and that of former President John Dramani Mahama, who was also vice president but, in Dr. Bawumia’s opinion, did not accomplish the same milestones.
“I have implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them.
“So, it means that I have passed the job as a Vice President. So, vote for me so I become President.”
“I am a Vice President so if you vote for me, you will get a brand-new tear rubber President. When you vote for the former president, you will get home used secondhand President,” he said.
