The Bawumia Campaign Team’s director of communications, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has reacted to accusations made by John Dramani Mahama’s running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, questioning the NPP’s campaign slogan.
Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang had earlier warned Ghanaians to be cautious of the New Patriotic Party’s 2024 campaign slogan, “It is possible,” during a meeting with female media professionals in Accra.
She used recent occurrences as evidence to claim that the ruling party has a history of breaking its commitments.
She specifically cited the Finance Ministry’s pensioner bondholders’ demonstrations, in which they are calling for the release of their monies, as evidence of the government’s incapacity to live up to its promises.
Dennis Miracles Aboagye refuted Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s assertions in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Channel One TV, saying that such divisive language will not resonate with Ghanaians in the run-up to the general elections in 2024.
He expressed optimism that the electorate will see through the opposition’s strategies and concentrate on the NPP’s real accomplishments and ambitions.
“We’re serious in this election, propaganda will not wash, tweak and twist will not wash. I’m telling you that anybody that wants to hold Dr Bawumia as Vice President responsible, to say that you are Vice President do everything you’re promising today, should not come and talk to me about Mahama, he was President,” he stated.
