As the 2024 general elections approach, Nana Kwame Sobre II, Chief of Manze in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, has issued a stern warning to politicians. He urges them to fulfill their campaign promises and refrain from instigating violence among the youth.
In a press interview, the traditional leader emphasized the importance of peaceful politics and accountability.
He cautioned the youth against engaging in activities that could jeopardize their future.
“Politicians, remember that your words are seeds sown in the minds of the people. Fulfill your promises, and let your actions speak louder than your words. Stay away from violence, and let us have a peaceful election.”
Nana Kwame Sobre II’s warning comes amidst growing concerns about political violence, intimidation, and unfulfilled promises. He stressed that politicians must prioritize the nation’s interest above personal ambitions and work towards the betterment of the community.
The Chief cited the example of the Asawinso to Manze road, promised by the ruling government four years ago but still unfulfilled. “We were promised a quality road, but nothing has been done. I remind them to fulfill their promises.”
Nana Kwame Sobre II called on fellow traditional authorities and the media to promote peace in the country. “I urge other traditional leaders to join the call for peace. We need peace, especially in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality. The media must avoid unfounded sensationalism and be pardoned for any wrongdoing, as we strive for peace.”
