Angola coach Pedro Gonçalves is anticipating what he terms as a ‘special’ game when his outfit face the Black Stars in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Palancas Negras were paired in Group F against Ghana, Niger and Sudan during a draw in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Angola will open their qualifying account against the Black Stars on September 2, 2024 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Portuguese coach expressed his outfit clash with the West African powerhouse will be special.
“It’s a special game for me because last time we played and we gave a very good performance in Kumasi but unfortunately we conceded a goal in the last minute which gave Ghana a win,” Gonçalves told Ghanasportspage.
The top two teams in every group will secure automatic qualification to the CAF’s biggest event on the continent.
The qualifying series will start in September 2024 to determine the first 24 nations from the 48 teams that will compete for the AFCON tournament.
