Ghana coach Otto Addo has confirmed Jordan Ayew as captain for the upcoming games against Angola and Niger in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The West African powerhouse will take on already-qualified Angola on November 15 before playing host to bottom-rock Niger on November 18, 2024.
As the Black Stars prepare to wrap up the AFCON qualifiers, Otto Addo has unveiled a 25-man squad, with three local players making the cut.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo has settled on Jordan Ayew as captain for the two crucial games, dropping Mohammed Kudus, who captained the team against Sudan in the double-header.
“I decided to take a new captain for the team which will be Jordan Ayew. I talked to Kudus for him to understand that he still needs to learn and grow into that role” he said at press conference.
Ghana has endured a torrid AFCON qualifications, losing two and drawing two games after four matches. They have managed only two points and are currently third on the standings.
