The Baba Yara Stadium will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification opener between Ghana and Angola next month, the Ghana FA has confirmed.
Ghana, who are four-time winners of the competitions are in Group F, and will compete with Sudan, Niger and Angola for AFCON slot next year.
Interestingly, the Black Stars will be facing former coach Kwesi Appiah, who is currently the head coach of the Sudan national team.
Ghana will host Angola on Thursday, September 5, 2024, before travelling to Niger for their second Group F game on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The game against Angola is scheduled for 16:00Hrs Kick Off at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The top two teams from each group will secure automatic qualification to the CAF’s biggest event on the continent.
Meanwhile, the next AFCON tournament will be held in December 2025 and January 2026.
Ghana are four time winners of the AFCON trophy and last won it in 1982 in Libya.
