Dennis Miracle Aboagye, former Communications Director for the Bawumia’s campaign, has warned that failure to cancel certain taxes in the 2025 Budget would amount to the greatest deception to the nation.
Speaking on Point Blank on Eyewitness News on Citi FM on Monday, March 10, he stated that Ghanaians voted for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) based on President John Dramani Mahama’s promise to scrap specific taxes introduced by the Akufo-Addo administration.
These include the e-levy, betting tax, and COVID-19 levy.
Aboagye emphasised that if the government fails to fulfill these commitments in the upcoming budget, it would be a betrayal of public trust.
His comments come ahead of the 2025 Budget presentation by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson on March 11.
