Michael Okyere Baafi, the Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency in the Eastern Region has charged the Black Stars to secure victory over Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana play host to their Chadian counterparts on Friday night before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar in the sixth round of the qualifying series.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s Free Zone Authority implored the Black Stars to beat Chad to secure maximum points in the much-anticipated clash.
“We have to beat Chad at all cost. They are people, I do a lot of work for them and have good friends there but it’s about Ghana, so we have to emerge victorious. I’m a consultant to their Free Zone. Football is the soul of Ghana. One key factor uniting us in Parliament is football” he said.
Ghana, the footballing powerhouse on the continent, currently sit second in Group I with 9 points, one point behind leaders Madagascar from the initial four games.
Meanwhile, Chad, who appears to be the whipping boys in Group I will be looking forward upsetting Ghana on home turf. It promises to be a thrilling affair, with both teams vying for victory.
