Mauritania will be aiming for maximum points against Sudan, having failed to win any of their first two games.
They suffered a 2-0 defeat to DR Congo before playing out a 0-0 draw against South Sudan.
Mauritania are currently 5th in Group B and must uplift their performance if they want to make the cut for the biggest soccer mundial to be co-hosted by Mexico, Canada and USA.
Meanwhile, Sudan, led by former Ghana trainer James Akwasi Appiah, sits in 2nd place in the group after a tight 1-0 win against DR Congo and a 1-1 tie with Togo.
